BBP Board Incumbent Announces Re-Election Intention

Longtime board trustee Andrea O'Neill will seek another term.

Bayport-Blue Point School Board of Education Vice President Andrea O'Neill will run for another term in what will clearly be one of the most contested trustee elections in several years.

In mid-March Rebecca Campbell, Bill Milligan and John Lynch announced they will "jointly run" for the three seats up for grabs. Blue Point resident Michael Miller, a teacher in the Mattituck-Cutchogue district, is also a candidate for the May 15 ballot.

Miller and Lynch are running for O'Neill's seat.

Two other trustee seats, those of Jane Burgess and Katherine Heinlein, are up for election. Campbell is vying for Heinlein's and Milligan will seek the seat occupied by Burgess. Candidates have until April 16 to file election petitions.
