Elizabeth Galian, Kerri Nickel and Madison Duignan awarded scholarships.

Out of the 207 pieces on exhibit, Bayport-Blue Point High School seniors Madison Duignan, Elizabeth Galian and Kerri Nickel captured three of the 13 awards at the 26th annual Nita Elder Student Scholarship Art Exhibit sponsored by the South Bay Art Association.

The annual contest features artwork by rising high school artists, which are judged in several award categories. Each student enters three individual pieces of artwork into the contest for the chance to receive several scholarships.

Elizabeth was presented with the Women Sharing Art $250 award, Kerri won the Emily Czaja $500 memorial award, and Madison won the Rob Price and Mike Maas $100 award.

This year’s exhibit featured work from 11 high schools.
