Bayport-Blue Point School Budget Passes

Bayport-Blue Point residents approved the school district's $68.3 million proposed budget on Tuesday by a margin of 1,298-459. 

The budget includes a 1.7 percent spending increase over the current budget. The tax levy increase is 2.08 percent, which is within the state's tax cap. The average homeowner in the district will pay an additional $100 in school taxes next year. 

Michael Miller and Daniene Byrne both ran unopposed for open seats on the Bayport-Blue Point Board of Education.
