Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms Enjoy Successful Athletic Season

The Bayport-Blue Point Phantoms enjoyed a very successful season this spring, with every varsity team advancing to postseason contests.

Both the boys’ baseball team and a four-member girls track squad – comprised of 4x400 relay winners Kathleen Cibuls, Courtney Dooley, Ashley Magnifico and Brigette Strobl – won state championships. In addition, the girls’ lacrosse team won its first Suffolk County championship, a number of track and field athletes qualified to compete at the state level, and the girls track and field team won their 12th championship.

The boys’ baseball team is the first Long Island and Class A New York State champions in history to win back-to-back championships. The girls’ four-member track squad also set a new school record by almost a full second and have the third fastest small school 4x400 time in Long Island history.
