Teams shared best practices in differentiated lesson development and instruction.

Bayport-Blue Point School District teachers Kim Benedict, Jenn Kleiber, Stacey Loeffler, Lori Mandell, Ashely Olmstead and Ashley Silvering represented the district at the Council for Exceptional Children Annual Convention this October. Under the direction of Beth Lakretz, the district's co-teaching consultant, the teachers shared how to plan and implement differentiated lessons in co-taught classrooms. The presentation described the planning process, which includes implementing Common Core Standards and co-teaching practices, differentiating instruction and creating modifications. The co-teaching teams shared their best practices at the convention based on lessons they had planned and  implemented.
