B-BP Students Want You to Go Bald for a Cause

Hair stylists needed for annual St. Baldrick's event set for March 14.

Bayport-Blue Point’s James Wilson Young Middle School National Junior
Honor Society will host its third annual St. Baldrick’s event on Thursday, March 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

This event is a volunteer-driven, head-shaving program committed to raising funds to find cures for childhood cancer. To date, the school has raised more than $1,400 in online donations and approximately $350 in cash donations for the cause.

In addition to seeking individuals looking to shed their hair for the cause, the
students are in need of licensed barbers or stylists to volunteer at the event.

The NJHS invites anyone interested in participating in this year’s event by shaving their head or making a donation to the cause to visit www.stbaldricks.org/events/jwyms.

Any hair care professionals willing to donate their time are asked to contact the school’s NJHS advisers Kelly Burke (email: kburke@bbpschools.org) or Heather Trifiletti at htrifiletti@bbpschools.org.
