Keeping the Arts Alive in B-BP

A SEA-BBS event raises funds for local students; scroll below photos for more on the event.

Live music filled the air Thursday at Grey Horse Tavern as residents browsed the artwork on display for the SEA-BBS (Society Encouraging the Arts in the Bayport-Blue Point Schools) inaugural fundraising event.

Bayport-Blue Point alumni, teachers and local artists donated their time and talent to make the Art and Talent Showcase a success. During the evening, five musical groups performed and 24 pieces of artwork were part of a silent auction.

SEA-BBS recently initiated a few new fundraising events, according to SEA-BBS president Marie Sarich.

“This year and next year we're anticipating that a large amount of kids are going to try to get scholarships from us," she said. "So we are hoping to boost the funds with new events. It all goes to the kids and scholarships.”
