Academy Street Students Draw Class Inspiration From Nature

Autumn display helps Bayport-blue Point students put art pencil to paper.

Academy Street Elementary School first-graders sought inspiration from the great outdoors as they worked to complete a recent art project. Taking advantage of the beautiful fall weather and turning foliage, the students worked with art teacher Ms. Maler to create scarecrow-themed still-life drawings. The students studied an autumn display – including a scarecrow, hay bale, pumpkin and mums –before putting pencil to paper and beginning their sketches.
