Academy First Graders Go Monochromatic

Academy Elementary School first grade students concluded their study of penguins with a black-and-white-themed event.

Students in each class acted out familiar penguin-themed stories, including “Mr. Popper’s Penguins,” and showcased the dioramas they created to demonstrate a penguin’s natural habitat. Additionally, while dressed in black and white clothing, the students enjoyed monochromatic-colored snacks while sharing their newfound knowledge with family and friends.

Throughout their month-long study, the students learned about the different types of penguins, the average penguin measurements and even measured themselves to compare their height to different penguins, including the King Penguin.
