This leads to all different Patch branches - is it supposed to be for the entire local area? Or just specifically for the Patchogue Patch one?
Michael Sorrentino (Editor) June 20, 2012 at 04:39 PM
Travis: This will encompass the Patchogue-Medford, Sachem and Sayville-Bayport areas, so feel free to nominate any businesses you know that reside in them.

Possible to include a "coffee" category? I'd really like to nominate Roast!
Michael Sorrentino (Editor) June 22, 2012 at 06:30 PM
Amy: Not sure if we'll be doing a coffee category, but feel free to nominate Roast under the "Breakfast" category for now. If that changes and we include a coffee category I'll update.

Would a bakery fit under Specialty Foods?
Judy Mottl (Editor) June 25, 2012 at 10:29 AM
Hi Sean.. I think a bakery could definitely be specialty food or even breakfast possibly.

What about stores like the Sayville General Store, which is an absolutely wonderful store with beautiful items and the friendliest, most helpful staff? What category would that go under?

boycott cupcakes!
Judy Mottl (Editor) June 28, 2012 at 11:29 AM
At this point there really isn't an appropriate category but you can still nominate and make the case for why that particular store is so wonderful!

the Queens City cupcakes are tasty but very fattening and a lot of money!

What is up with the cupcake haters?
Carol Reitz-Butler July 02, 2012 at 01:45 AM
Is there such a thing as a non-fattening cupcake? I suspect it wouldn't be very tasty. Our cupcakes are not expensive, considering the quality of our organic ingredients : we use pure butter, no shortening or lard, no preservatives or dyes, fair trade chocolate (no child labor!), and no HFCS. Seems like a pretty good deal, actually.

the whold cupcake craze is a dying trend. $3 a cupcake is a lot when you can make a whole batch for less than that. and who wants fatty cupcakes in the hot summer anyway? yuck - they go right to your thunder thighs. i think fruit and fro yo are healthier treats for the warmer months. go yochi!
