Weather-Related Issues Linger for LIRR as Services Not Back on Track

The sun may be out but train travel remains off-schedule.

According to the MTA service on the LIRR is still not back on track as of 2:30 p.m. this afternoon after thunderstorms hit the south shore and impacted the Babylon branch.

  • The 1:05PM train from Penn due Babylon at 2:20PM, is being held at Wantagh due weather-related signal problems.   
  • The 1:23PM train from Penn due Babylon at 2:23PM, is being held at the Bellmore station due to weather-related signal problems.  
  • The 1:35PM train from Penn due Babylon at 2:50PM, is being held in Merrick Station because of congestion caused by weather-related signal trouble in Wantagh.
  • The 1:35PM train from Babylon due Penn at 2:47PM, is being delayed in Seaford Station because of signal trouble.
  • The 2:08PM train from Babylon due Penn at 3:07PM, is being delayed in Amityville Station because of weather-related signal trouble in Wantagh.
  • The 2:26PM train from Babylon due Patchogue at 2:56PM, is being held in Babylon Station to accommodate customers from a late arriving scheduled connection.
