On Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled that President Barack Obama’s healthcare reform law is constitutional.
The centerpiece of the President’s healthcare plan, the individual mandate that requires Americans to have health care, was found to be legal. According to a report in the Washington Post, the Court ruled that the mandate is allowable under Congress’ taxing authority.
The Court voted 5-4 in favor of the President with Chief Justice John Roberts casting the deciding vote.
