Sayville FD to Host 146th Memorial Day Observance

Members of the Sayville Fire Department invite the community to attend Sayville’s 146th Memorial Day Parade, which kicks off on Memorial Day at 9 a.m. 

Once again, marchers from military groups, area fire departments and various community organizations will stroll or ride down Main Street between Handsome Avenue and Foster Avenue. 

Sayville High School and Middle School Band members will also entertain parade-goers as they march down Main Street while performing their music.

If you are a veteran, feel free to join the VFW and American Legion at the beginning of the parade on Handsome Avenue.

Following the parade, a memorial service honoring veterans will be held at Sparrow Park, and the Sayville Fire Department will then hold its own memorial service honoring departed members on the front lawn of its headquarters.
