Sayville Ambulance Company Holds Installation

Chief Dennis Kelly was honored.

Islip Town Councilman Steve Flotteron recently visited the Community Ambulance Company of Sayville as they installed their new officers for the year.

Since 1950, the all-volunteer ambulance company has served the communities of Bayport, Bohemia, Oakdale, Sayville, and West Sayville. Although they are a separate entity, the company works to assist local fire departments and is responsible for 40,000 people living in a 20-square-mile area. In 2007, they responded to over 3,800 requests for emergency assistance —an average of over 10 alarms a day.
