Residents Encouraged to Support Easter Basket Drive

Assemblyman Al Graf is accepting donations for families struggling through economic downturn.

Assemblyman Al Graf (R,C–Holbrook) is conducting an Easter Basket drive for local children in need. The assemblyman is encouraging local residents to donate baskets, bags of candy, chocolate Easter bunnies and more practical, life necessities that will be distributed to children who may otherwise not enjoy this special holiday.

“With the economic downturn that has plagued New York in recent years, more and more families on Long Island are struggling just to make ends meet,” said Graf. “Many families are forced to choose between celebrating Easter and putting food on the table, paying their utilities, or keeping up with their mortgage. No child should go without a visit from the Easter Bunny. I am asking families and businesses that can afford to make a donation to stop by my district office with Easter baskets, candy or household items that they can spare. Donations we receive will help make a local child’s Easter dream come true.”

Items are being accepted at Assemblyman Graf’s district office, located at 859 Montauk Highway, Suite 1, in Bayport, from now until Friday, April 15. If you would like to participate or have any other questions, please call, e-mail or stop by the district office.
