Potential Pets: Black (Cat) Friday

Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter seeks to find the facility's 10 black cats a home this holiday season.

Shop somewhere other than the mall this Black Friday- Brookhaven Animal Shelter is hosting "Black Cat Friday," asking just $5 from those who purchase any of the shelter's 10 black cats.

The suggested that residents consider adopting a furry friend as they do their holiday shopping this Friday.

“Black Cat Friday” will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 25. Remember, the adoption price for each black cat is just $5. The fee includes a starter kit with food, a litter box and liner, scoop, and bowls. Purchases cats will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, tested and micro-chipped.

Councilwoman Jane Bonner, Animal Shelter liaison said there are so many loving pets at the animal shelter. 

“I urge residents to help a needy pet this Thanksgiving," she said. "A stop at the animal shelter would be a great break from the shopping this weekend.”
