The , which also serves Blue Point, recently received $74,914 in FEMA grants on Monday from the Assistance to Firefighter grant program.
"It will enable us to equip our dedicated EMS staff and volunteers with the most up to date biohazard protection," Paul Pearo, director of the company, said.
This is the fourth year the company has applied for this grant.
A large check was presented by Congressman Tim Bishop, who said that the company's entry toward the grant was very strong.
There are over 80 active members of the company, most volunteer. The company takes 3,500 calls a year, one of them coming in at the end of the check ceremony causing the company to immediately leave and respond.
The company serves Patchogue Village, East Patchogue and Blue Point.
