PAC Wants to Impeach Obama

The Lyndon LaRouche Political Action Committee comes to Bayport seeking support to oust the President.

If you happened to be driving around town today, you may have passed by big signs reading, “Impeach Obama!” on the sidewalk by the post office.

Joe Billington from Lyndon LaRouche Political Action Committee set up a stand at asking drivers to pull over if they wanted to impeach President Obama over the recent debt ceiling controversy.

“Obama needs to be replaced,” he said. “We have to dump Obama and rebuild our nation.”

The committee, hailing from a regional headquarters in Hackensack, N.J., is made up of Republicans and Democrats looking to impeach Obama and support house resolution 1489, which is a repeal of current provisions in the newest banking act, which calls for taxpayers to bail out investment bankers.

LaRouche was angered and provoked by Obama’s newest request to invoke a clause in the 14th Amendment that would allow him to bypass Congress and borrow money beyond the debt limit.

The committee deployed members, such as Billington, to gain support from local residents and congressmen to restore the old Glass-Steagall Act. Locally, Billington sought support from Steve Israel (D- Huntington).

“Glass-Steagall was the law of the land for 66 years,” he said. “The United States had the best banking system in the world up until now.”

The Glass-Steagall Act, or similarly known as the Banking Act of 1933, looked to reform the banking system after the stock market crash in 1929. Its primary change was separating commercial banking from investment banking. Recently, the federal government squashed the old notions of Glass-Steagall and looked to the taxpayer to bail out investment bankers.

“We’re talking $20 trillion to $40 trillion dollars of taxpayer money to bail out Wall Street,” Billington said.

The LaRouche PAC also said Obama’s list of impeachable offenses is growing. Some other complaints include Obama’s violation of the Constitution and War Powers Resolution by sending troops to Libya without Congressional approval, his health care plan, the shutdown of NASA space flight program and his violation of the separation of powers.

“We need to do something about it now,” Billington said. “All hell is going to break loose soon.”
