Nolan Says Islip Town Strong But More Work Needed

Supervisor discusses accomplishments, future plans in State of the Town address.

With a great deal of attention still being paid to the health of the economy, Islip said his administration this year will sharpen its focus on a variety of issues as part of an effort to boost local economic conditions.

During his State of the Town address Tuesday at Town Hall, Nolan touched on several ideas in his multi-point plan. Among these ideas are easing the property tax burden on seniors and veterans and attracting new corporations to Islip while working to keep existing companies from relocating off Long Island.

During his address, Nolan — a Democrat — also highlighted what he felt were a number of accomplishments and improvements that have been implemented during his five years as town supervisor.
