The Suffolk County Department of Public Works’ Division of Vector Control will treat salt marshes at the Sayville Yacht Club in Blue Point on Wednesday to control mosquito larvae.
The treatment by helicopter will be a low altitude, large droplet liquid application of Altosid liquid concentrate (methoprene) and take place between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m.

County officials say no precautions are recommended to prepare for this spraying,
as the helicopter will be flying at a very low level over marsh areas and
taking other precautions to control drift into inhabited areas. Human exposure
