Levy's House Up For Sale

Home of the Suffolk County Executive listed for $369,000.

It was late March when Steve Levy rocked Suffolk County's political circles with the announcement that he would not seek re-election as County Executive. Now, the long-time Bayport resident may be on the move again as his house on Barrett Ave. is up for sale.

Levy, a former County Legislator and State Assemblyman, has lived in the home with his wife, Colleen, for nearly 20 years. The house has been on the market since early Sept. and an open house was held on Sept. 10.

Levy spokesperson Dan Aug told Patch that the County Executive had no comment on why he and his wife decided to put their home up for sale. Recently Newsday (subscription required) reported that Levy said they "are 'testing the waters' but have not decided to sell and have not yet bought another residence."

However, a "For Sale" sign remains on the front lawn of the house.

Realtor Joanne Sturchio of Prudential's Douglas Elliman office, the real estate agent working to sell the house, declined to comment.

Levy's home listed on the Multiple Listing Service website is priced at $369,000 and described as being in “mint” condition. The colonial has six rooms, three bedrooms, one-and-a-half baths and was constructed in 1969. It sits on an 80-foot by 100-foot lot.
