It's That Time: Spring Forward, Change Smoke Detectors

Don't forget to change the clocks as time change happens at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Yes, after a long winter Spring is around the corner. Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend, and local fire departments are urging residents to change the batteries in their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors when they spring forward.

The time change will take place at 2 a.m. Sunday.

"Please remember to change your smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector batteries. Please try to test your detectors monthly to make sure they work properly," states a release on the Sayville Fire Department website.
