Truck Tire Dilemma Creates a Bit of Drama Behind Stop & Shop

A delivery vehicle rear tire appeared to drop into a pothole of some sort behind Sal's Pizza at the Stop & Shop center just before noon today.

Suffolk Police cars, the Sayville Fire Department and even an emergency police unit responded to call in the rear parking lot of the Stop & Shop center about 11 a.m. as a truck seemed to become lodged in a pothole. There was no concern of potential fuel or fire danger, according to Sayville Fire Chief Thomas Pantano, and the firemen were released from the scene shortly after responding. Suffolk Police remained on the scene to help the driver figure out how to get it back on solid pavement.
