Man Hit by Taxi in Sayville

Pedestrian suffers non-life threatening injuries in early Saturday accident.

A Sayville transportation vehicle hit a pedestrian early Saturday morning at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Johnson Avenue in Sayville, according to police.

The unidentified man, described as being in his 30s, was hit by a Colonial taxi van about 1:25 a.m. Police say he was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with non-life threatening injuries to his head and back.

The taxi driver was not hurt in the accident.

No charges have been filed in the accident and police are continuing the investigation.
