Sayville Schools Issues Alert Regarding Pickup Truck Following Students

The following message was sent out to Sayville parents from the school district Thursday:

On Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at approximately 11.00 am we received a call from a parent of a Sayville HS student, he reported that his wife observed a Green Pick-up truck N.Y. Plate FHZ-6372 following two high school students to the bus stops along Sayville Blvd. This occurred between 7:00 am and 7:15 am. The pick-up truck then followed the bus after the students got on.  

Another Sayville parent also reported seeing the same vehicle parked near her residence on Belinda Court at 6:40 am. She reported that when her daughter left her residence at 6:45 am to walk to the bus stop at the corner of Drum Courtand Budenos Dr, the Green pick-up truck followed her daughter to the bus stop. Her daughter called her mother immediately.

Note: At each of the incidents the male has not spoken or made any threats of any kind to any of the students.  

The vehicle was later identified to be a 1994 Green Mazda pick-up truck.

Suffolk Police have been informed of the “suspicious vehicle” and plate number. Please inform SCPD if you see this vehicle.
