Sayville Man Charged With Sexual Act, Contact With a Minor

A 60-year-old Sayville man is charged with engaging in a sexual act and sexual contact with a child under the age of 11, according to a police report.

Felipe Sanchez was arrested by Suffolk Police on June 28 and charged with two felonies, a B felony for allegedly engaging in a sexual act, an E felony for allegedly having sexual contact with an individual younger than 11, as well as a misdemeanor charge for allegedly acting in a manner endangering the welfare of a child.

Sanchez posted a $20,000 cash bond at a pre-arraignment court hearing on June 29 and is due back in court on August 28.

A temporary order of protection barring Sanchez from contacting the victim was issued at the hearing.

Suffolk Police declined to provide specific details regarding the incidents, which took place on May 26 according to a court database, given the nature of the crime and age of victim.
