Local residents had the unique opportunity to not only help those who may need blood in the future, but also feed the hungry during the Sayville Fire Department's "Feed the Need" blood/food drive event on Thursday.
The goal was to collect about 60 pints of blood and donate bags of food to Long Island Harvest. Donors were asked to bring food items as part of participation. All donors received two Met tickets for helping out. Here's a look at the event.
