Sayville Crime Report: Four Arrests, Eight Incidents

A list of recent police activity in Sayville and West Sayville as reported by the 5th Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department's Media Incidents list regarding Sayville and West Sayville. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests

  • On Feb. 20, Suzanne Melzer from Hauppauge was arrested in Sayville on a charge of possession of a hypodermic instrument.
  • Walter Weeks from Sayville was arrested in Sayville on Feb. 23 on a charge of burglary.
  • Amnon Fafailov from Forest Hills was arrested in Sayville on a charge of false bus rec on Feb. 23.
  • On Feb. 25, Michael Ogden from Sayville was arrested in Brentwood on a charge of harassment.

Incidents

  • An incident of harassment on Astor Drive in Sayville was reported to police at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 20.
  • On Feb. 21, an incident of aggravated harassment on Main Street in Sayville was reported to police at 9 p.m.
  • Police were notified of an incident of graffiti on the Sunrise Highway Service Road in Sayville Feb. 22 at noon.
  • On Feb. 23, police were alerted of an incident of criminal mischief on Greeley Avenue in Sayville at 3:30 p.m.
  • Lakeland Avenue residents in Sayville reported a robbery to police on Feb. 24 at 9 p.m.
  • On Feb. 25, an incident of criminal mischief was reported to police on Overton Street in Sayville at 3:40 p.m.
  • Police were alerted of an incident of criminal mischief on Main Street in Sayville on Feb. 24 at1 a.m.
  • A burglary on Wyandanch Road in Sayville was reported to police at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 18.
