Sayville Crime Report: Stolen Property Arrest, DWI & Main Street Mischief

A list of recent police activity in Sayville and West Sayville as reported by the 5th Precinct.

The following information is directly from the Suffolk County Police Department's media incidents list regarding Bayport-Blue Point. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

ARRESTS

June 10, 2012

Ryan Oyola, of Sayville, was arrested in Sayville and charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

June 8, 2012

Philip Johann, of Rocky Point, was arrested in Sayville and charged with DWI.

June 4, 2012

Abiola Akerele, of Sayville, was arrested in Sayville and charged with harassment.

Nickolaos Gialis, of Plainview, was arrested in Sayville and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

INCIDENTS

June 10, 2012

Criminal mischief to a windshield was reported on Island St., in Sayville.

June 9, 2012

Criminal mischief was reported on Main Street.

June 6, 2012

An assault was reported on West Main Street in Sayville.

June 5, 2012

An harassment by email incident was reported by a West Main Street Sayville woman.

June 4, 2012

Criminal mischief to handicap rails and benches were reported on Greene Avenue in Sayville.

And so the taxpayer is once again asked to give more to an already out of control and bloatedRead More system. Every year the school districts on Long Island receive increases of millions of dollars to their budgets, and still they want to bleed the taxpayer for more. As two income families struggle to pay exorbitant tax bills, we’re asked to pay even more? We’ll here’s a novel idea, how about if the teachers union’s began demanding less? This early retirement baloney must stop, salaries should be capped, administrators and their staffs must be cut by at least eighty percent. In addition, educators and staff should have to pay for their own medical and retirement plans just as the rest of us must. Here on Long Island, families are suffering and sacrificing, and many are being forced to leave due to taxes which are out of control. It is time for educators to cease hiding behind children with threats of decreased student programs, and to make an honest and realistic observation as to why things are as bad as they are. To blame parents for not paying enough into the system to support the schools is ludicrous. The real problem lies in a system which is self serving, and run by incompetents blind to the harm they are inflicting upon our children and families.
