Sayville Crime Report: DWI, Petit Larcey & Criminal Mischief Incidents

A list of recent police activity in West Sayville and Sayville as reported by the 5th Precinct.

The following information is directly from the Suffolk County Police Department's media incidents list regarding Bayport and Blue Point. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

ARRESTS

August 29, 2012

Anthony Federico, of West Sayville, was arrested in West Sayville and charged with criminal contempt in the first degree.

August 28, 2012

Daniel Leo, of Bohemia, was arrested in West Sayville and charged with petit larceny.

Stephen Hansen, of Sayville, was arrested in Central Islip and charged with aggravated harassment.

Kenneth Andersen, of Sayville, was arrested in Nesconset and charged with DWI.

Desmond Estrict, of Sayville, was arrested in Sayville and charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury.

INCIDENTS

September 2, 2012

A man was reportedly assaulted on Main Street near the Friendly’s restaurant.

September 1, 2012

A Greeley Avenue resident reported criminal mischief to a vehicle.

A Fire Island Boulevard, Fire Island Pines resident reported criminal mischief to car tires.

An incident of harassment was reported on South Main Street in Sayville.

A Clybe Street, West Sayville resident reported criminal mischief.

August 29, 2012

Criminal mischief to a fence on West Main Street was reported.

August 28, 2012

A West Lane resident reported equipment stolen from a garage.

And so the taxpayer is once again asked to give more to an already out of control and bloatedRead More system. Every year the school districts on Long Island receive increases of millions of dollars to their budgets, and still they want to bleed the taxpayer for more. As two income families struggle to pay exorbitant tax bills, we’re asked to pay even more? We’ll here’s a novel idea, how about if the teachers union’s began demanding less? This early retirement baloney must stop, salaries should be capped, administrators and their staffs must be cut by at least eighty percent. In addition, educators and staff should have to pay for their own medical and retirement plans just as the rest of us must. Here on Long Island, families are suffering and sacrificing, and many are being forced to leave due to taxes which are out of control. It is time for educators to cease hiding behind children with threats of decreased student programs, and to make an honest and realistic observation as to why things are as bad as they are. To blame parents for not paying enough into the system to support the schools is ludicrous. The real problem lies in a system which is self serving, and run by incompetents blind to the harm they are inflicting upon our children and families.
