Sayville Crime Report: 10 Significant Arrests

A list of recent police activity in Sayville and West Sayville as reported by the 5th Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department's Media Incidents list regarding Bayport-Blue Point. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions. 

Arrests

  • Stephanie Treschel from Sayville was arrested in Sayville on Jan. 15 on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
  • On Jan. 17, Jesus Valentin from Sayville was arrested in Sayville on a charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
  • Luisa Valentin from Sayville was arrested in Sayville on a charge of disorderly conduct on Jan. 17.
  • Bayport resident Robert Harvell was arrested in Sayville on charges of possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance on Jan. 18.
  • On Jan. 19, Tyrone Barham from Bay Shore was arrested in Sayville on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
  • Michele Spurvey from West Sayville was arrested in Mastic Beach on Jan. 19 on a charge of aggravated harassment.
  • Lawrence Gamble Jr from Sayville was arrested in Bohemia on Jan. 20 on a charge of revocation of presumptive release.
  • On Jan. 20, Danielle Hatzidakis from Sayville was arrested in Ronkonkoma on a charge of possession of marijuana.
  • John Montesano II from Sayville was arrested in North Patchogue on a charge of operation of a motor vehicle imparied by drugs on Jan. 20.
  • Sayville resident Kim Vetri was arrested on Jan. 22 in Medford on a charge of driving while intoxicated

Incidents

  • An incident of grand larceny on Middle Road in Sayville was reported to police at 11 a.m. on Jan. 15.

And so the taxpayer is once again asked to give more to an already out of control and bloatedRead More system. Every year the school districts on Long Island receive increases of millions of dollars to their budgets, and still they want to bleed the taxpayer for more. As two income families struggle to pay exorbitant tax bills, we’re asked to pay even more? We’ll here’s a novel idea, how about if the teachers union’s began demanding less? This early retirement baloney must stop, salaries should be capped, administrators and their staffs must be cut by at least eighty percent. In addition, educators and staff should have to pay for their own medical and retirement plans just as the rest of us must. Here on Long Island, families are suffering and sacrificing, and many are being forced to leave due to taxes which are out of control. It is time for educators to cease hiding behind children with threats of decreased student programs, and to make an honest and realistic observation as to why things are as bad as they are. To blame parents for not paying enough into the system to support the schools is ludicrous. The real problem lies in a system which is self serving, and run by incompetents blind to the harm they are inflicting upon our children and families.
