Resident Extends a Heartfelt Thank You to Community Ambulance

As cleanup goes on, a community member reaches out in appreciation.

Sayville-Bayport Patch gets alot of email, especially in times of crisis, from community members looking to help, donate, and do something to help others as Long Islanders recover from one of the worst storms in history.

Mixed in with all the notes, was a comment posted on our story about how the storm hit local businesses.

It comes from Phyllis Stafford who apparently needed help as Hurricane Sandy hit earlier this week. Patch wanted to share it as the role that rescue organizations play, including fire departments and the Community Ambulance organization, and the volunteers who dedicate a good portion of their time to those efforts, is often undervalued.

Here is Ms. Stafford's note:

"I would like to send my heartfelt appreciation and gratefulness to the sayville ambulance volunteers for their kindness and bravery when I needed to go to the hospital during the storm .God Bless them all and I hope one day I will pay it forward."

It's a drive-through bank.

I heard it was a bank some time ago, but I can't imagine which bank would run a construction projectRead More so poorly.
