Three suspects believed to be involved in a string of burglaries in Sayville and Holtsville were arrested on Tuesday in Medford.
Emmett Williams, 27, of Middle Island and Mark Reiman, 28, and his girlfriend, Heather Molinaro, 21, both of Central Islip, were arrested on Route 112 after police recognized the car they were driving as matching the description of a vehicle seen in the area of recently committed burglaries, police said.
According to police, First Precinct Officers Francis Munsch and Sean Neknez stopped the vehicle and allegedly observed drugs and jewelry inside the car. The individuals were interviewed and allegedly admitted their involvement in 15 burglaries from July 20 through Sept. 11 of this year, police said.
Williams is charged with 10 counts of Burglary 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of Marijuana; Reiman is charged with 15 counts of Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and a Bench Warrant; and Molinaro is charged with 15 counts of Burglary 2nd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and a Bench Warrant.
All three were arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Wednesday morning.
Police said more charges may be pending and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this case to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
