Police Seeking Thief Who Stole Wallet in W. Sayville

The thief then used a stolen credit card at 7-Eleven in Sayville.

Police are looking for a male who allegedly stole a wallet from a car in West Sayville and then used a credit card from the wallet at the 7-Eleven store in Sayville.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help on the grand larceny incident which occurred on January 9.

According to police the wallet was taken from a car parked in a driveway on Atlantic Avenue. Later that same day, about 3 p.m., a card from the wallet was used for a purchase at the convenience store.

The man is described as a white male in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with thin a build and short dark hair. He was wearing a tan-colored Carhartt-style jacket and a black hooded sweatshirt with the “ECKOUNLTD” written in white lettering on the hood.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will be kept confidential. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

What a dim bulb! He uses a credit card taken during a theft at a store that has cameras surveilling everything. Guess he's too busy stealing things to watch crime shows on TV. His parents will be so proud.
