Police Seek Public's Help in Wallet Snatching Incident

The theft took place at the Sayville Stop and Shop last December.

Suffolk Police are looking for a man who stole a wallet from a Sayville Stop and Shop customer and then later used the victim's debit cards to make purchases at that store and a Kmart store in Farmingville.

Fifth Precinct detectives state the theft took place on December 22, 2011 about 4 p.m. An unknown white male stole the female victim's wallet from the supermarket on Main Street. Police are hoping someone will recognize the man caught on video camera surveillance tapes released today.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
