Police Investigating Possible Hate Crime at Sayville Park Facility

A swatiska was discovered in a bathroom at Broadway Avenue park.

Suffolk Police are investigating a possible hate crime, this time in Sayville, involving a swatiska and graffiti at a local park.

According to police a swatsika was painted in a bathroom at the Broadway Avenue Park on June 26.

It is the second potential hate crime incident between West Sayville and Blue Point and was discovered a day after a swatiska was found painted on the Saint John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church on Montauk Highway in Blue Point.

Suffolk police told Patch the incidents are both being investigated by the department's Hate Crimes Unit.
