Was it a murder or a hit and run? Don't have any details about this incident, feel real uneasy about a body being found in my neighborhood.

Number one I live in the area and the body was not found on the farm ( outlaw acres ) it was on the county property. This is a terrible thing that happened to a great family and its horrible that this sloppy news reporter don't have her facts straight.

I guess you can't get anymore info Ms. Mottl?

I, too, am concerned about this incident and the lack of information. My son and his friend often ride their bikes in this area and until I know there was no foul play involved, he is not going to be riding on Sylvan Avenue any time soon.

The information provided was confirmed by the police and Patch will update the story once the medical examiner has ruled on whether it was a non-criminal or criminal act and any further information provided by the police.

I, too, am very disturbed by the news of this incident and by the lack of information. My son and his friend often ride their bikes in this area, and until I know there was no foul play involved, he's not riding there any time soon.

He was found on Lipa / Keyspan property and the situation of how and who found him is a tragedy that no family should ever experience. His name was Eric Muschenick and he was left to die by people who called themselves his friends. He had a son and a loving family and true friends who are all coping with this terrible tragedy as best as they can. His body was found face down covered by eggs and shaving cream. He was left there on tuesday night and was found almost 24 hours later by his Mother. The two men that left him have said in their own words " we thought it would be funny to egg and shaving cream him and he would not come back around the job site". Eric was intoxicated at the time that they offered to drive him home, but instead bought him to a local gas station where they purchased the eggs and shaving cream. Instead of bringing him home, they left him in the woods, less than 1000 feet from his mother door steps. Hopefully the men that tortured him in his last hours of life, will face a jury one day soon to learn there own fate. They family wishes that until after the funeral that you please respect their privacy. These are the facts of the case and what should be in the police report. I am writing this because people do have a right to know what has happened in their neighborhood.

This is so horribly tragic, and no one deserves to die like this. Eric was a funny, engaging and intelligent man and he will be missed terribly by his friends and family. Rest in Peace Eric. We loved you.

His name is Eric Mushinick, and he was left to die by his so called friends. It's a horrible tragic loss of a wonderful man. He had a son, loving family, and true friends who are struggling with his loss. Eric was like a brother to me, always looking out for me when I rode my horse. Even going above and beyond to stay with my horse during his last moments of life so I didn't have,to see it. We love, and miss him very much. Goodspeed my friend.
