Police Investigating Assault Incident at California Diner

Couple accosted by a group of four men, according to police report.

Suffolk Police are investigating an assault incident in which a couple was accosted by a group of four men at the California Diner, on the south side service road of Sunrise Highway.

According to a police report four unknown suspects approached a man and his girlfriend on January 12 about 3 a.m. and began talking to the woman. The four suspects assaulted the man, states the report, and he suffered a laceration. The girlfriend was pushed to the ground and her finger was injured. The two were transported by ambulance to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital.

Isolated incident at the best diner I've been to, anywhere, anytime. If Tony Soprano's sister ate there, it's good enuff for me.
