Police Hunt Robber Who Hit Chase Bank on Saturday

Robbery took place about 12:20 p.m.

Suffolk Police are looking for a man who robbed the Chase Bank branch in the Sayville Plaza Shopping Center on Saturday and was last seen walking westbound through the parking lot wearing a dark blue winter coat, a black-knit hat, a gray scarf and black sunglasses.

The man, described as being 5'2 to 5'3, black and having a thin build, entered the bank about 12:20 p.m. and approached a teller with a note demanding cash, say police.

Police said the teller complied and gave the suspect cash from the drawer. The man fled on foot westbound through the parking lot.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about this incident is to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.

How could they think going west through the entire parkinglot was a good idea? The road is right there on the east. It's amazing they didn't get tackled.
