Police Copter Helps Nab Menacing Suspect in Sayville

Suspicious person at local motel apprehended Saturday.

It was a busy weekend for the Suffolk Police aviation unit as officers helped nab car part thieves as well as a menacing suspect in Sayville.

A report to police Saturday morning about 7:20 a.m. stated there was a suspicious person at the Sayville Motor Lodge on Sunrise Highway in Sayville.

The person took off upon police arrival and a helicopter unit was called in to track the person. An arrest for criminal possession of a weapon and menacing was then made, according to police.

Early Monday morning, as Patch reported, a helicopter unit also played a role in the arrest of two men allegedly stealing catalytic converters at Donaldsons dealership on Sunrise Highway in Sayville.
