Police Car Involved in Accident on Main Street

As a Suffolk County Police office was traveling east on Main Street in Sayville on Tuesday night, he was struck by a 2001 Lincoln that was heading south on Greene Avenue and attempting to turn onto Main Street.

The Police officer driving the car was transported to a local hospital but no serious injuries were reported, according to the Suffolk County Police Department's Public Information Office. A citation was issued to the driver for making an illegal turn.
