Suffolk Police have arrested two men they say were stealing catalytic converters from the Donaldsons Volkswagen dealership on Sunrise Highway in Sayville early Monday morning.
The police responded to the dealership near 2 a.m. when someone noticed two people under a car. The suspects fled and police used car patrol, a helicopter and canine units to track down the suspects.
Jamayne Smith, 22, of Rockville Centre, and Kirk Robinson, 21, of Arverne, are charged with grand larceny in the third degree. Six catalytic converters were recovered, according to police.Find out what's happening in Sayville-Bayportwith free, real-time updates from Patch.
