Passenger Issue Caused Sayville Train Delay

An emotionally disturbed passenger on a westbound train from Montauk late Wednesday afternoon prompted MTA police to halt the train in Sayville, disrupting service and causing a traffic backup on Railroad Avenue.

According to the MTA the 2:51 p.m. train arrived in Sayville on time, at 4:50 p.m., but was held while police removed a male passenger that had reportedly been threatening fellow passengers. The man was taken to Stony Brook Medical Center for observation and no injuries were reported in the incident. The train then resumed service to the Jamaica station.
