Four fire departments battled a blaze at a Sayville home on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

No one was hurt in the fire, which started at about 3:17 p.m., but the house, near the corner of Tariff Street, was rendered "uninhabitable," police said.

Arson Squad detectives deemed the fire accidental.

It is such a shame this had to happen to this family, of all people. These folks would give you the shirt off their backs, they're genuinely good people. They've been through so much hardship in the past few years, they really need to catch a break. My family and myself thank the lord that they got out alive, too bad for their rabbit and cat though. I pray for you guys every day.
