Man on Bridge Keeps Sunrise Hwy. Closed in Bayport
Police, emergency units on scene since mid morning Friday.
The eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway in Bayport remain closed as of early Friday afternoon as police handle a possible suicide attempt on the Waverly Avenue bridge in Patchogue.
Police closed the highway early Friday morning around 8:20 a.m. Police have not released any other information as of this time, but a person is standing on the outside of the bridge barrier on the east side of the bridge.
Traffic is being allowed on the service road eastbound. Police have not released any other information as of this time.
