Jetco Employee Arrested Twice This Month

Jaqir Singh was arrested at Jetco on Nov. 14, less than two weeks after he was arrested for selling alcohol to a child.

Jaqir Singh was arrested for the second time this month on Nov. 14 on a charge of public display of sex material and failure to disclose origin of a recording.

Suffolk County Police arrested Singh, 46, of Hicksville, at Jetco on Nov. 14 at 4:15 p.m. after noticing that sexual material, depicting nudity and sexual acts, was on a display rack in an area visible to all patrons, according to Suffolk Police. A police spokesperson said the open display of the material, as well as the lack of an advertised fee or other limit of admission, such as a minimum age requirement, were grounds for arrest.

In addition, Singh was charged with failure to disclose origin of a recording, such as a bootleg CD or DVD, that was present at the business at the time of arrest.

Earlier this month, Singh was arrested on charges of selling tobacco to a minor and unlawful dealing of alcohol to a child. Jetco was one of the four area businesses police as part of a Nov. 4 alcohol sting operation.

Singh was presented with a ticket to appear at a future date in First District Court in Central Islip. Police said some of the stores chosen for the operation were in response to community complaints while other stores were randomly selected.
