Free Smoke Detectors Courtesy of Sayville FD

Residents must call fire department to schedule installation before Oct. 15.

Residents of Sayville are eligible for one of 140 free photoelectric smoke detectors courtesy of the .

These detectors are part of a fire safety initiative and must be installed no later than October 15. Installation will be done on a first come/first serve basis and while supplies last.

Volunteer firefighters will test all of existing smoke detectors and place additional or replacement detectors throughout your home free of charge.  During their visit, they will answer any questions or concerns regarding fire safety.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity to help make more residences safer in our Fire District and am thankful to our volunteer firefighters for taking the time to support this initiative," said Sayville Fire Department Chief Pantano.

Any resident in the Sayville Fire District who resides in an owner occupied or rental property can participate. Call 589-0189 to schedule an installation.
