Fire Leaves Main St. Stereo Unscathed

Quick Sayville FD response cited for minimal damage at longtime Sayville business.

Main Street Stereo on Sunrise Highway in Sayville suffered a fire Sunday evening but you wouldn't know it if you stopped in at the store Monday morning. The small blaze, which is believed to have been started outside the building, left just minimal damage to the top part of the store and it's business as usual as the week kicks off.

"We sincerely want to thank the driver who called it in when they were driving by and the Sayville Fire Department for their incredibly quick response and ability to extinguish the fire without causing damage ," Stephen Salvio, sales manager, told Patch in a phone interview Monday morning.

"You wouldn't even know we had a fire, nothing mwas damaged and we're extremely thankful to the fire department," he added.
