Sayville, West Sayville and Bayport Fire Departments responded to a fire in a bedroom at 76 Palmer Drive in Sayville. The fire was contained to the bedroom and quickly extinguished. The homeowner self-evacuated before the fire department arrived.
According to Wendy Liu, public information officer for the Sayville Fire Departmennt, Bayport Fire Department's chief was in-command until Sayville Fire Chief Larry Sesso arrived on scene. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
