Motorists heading north or south on Lincoln Avenue in Sayville about 4:30 p.m. found themselves turning around and heading the other way as a downed wire stopped traffic for about 20 minutes Tuesday afternoon.
Sayville Fire Department responded within minutes and ascertained it was not a live or dangerous wire and removed it from blocking the roadway.
